I’m so excited to share this skirt with you. I’ve been sewing for about four years and I think this project takes the cake. It’s the nicest thing I’ve ever made. It’s a combination of beautiful fabric, a great pattern, and the ease at which this came together.
I bought this beautiful silk fabric at Textile Fabrics in Nashville about six months ago. The people at Textile Fabrics were very kind and I had a good time fabric shopping there. They told me about a sale that would be happening a week from the date I went there, and when I told them I was just in town visiting they let me take 40% off of any fabric I wanted, anyway. I thought that was really sweet so I decided to treat myself and I bought this silk fabric along with some others. Sadly, I’ve recently learned that Textile Fabrics is closing their doors. It’s such a shame that independent fabric stores are becoming a dying breed in America. It’s just not as fun to have to buy all your fabric needs at the local Hancock.
