I swung by Barnes & Noble today to get a birthday present for somebody and could not resist perusing the sewing book section. Granted, I certainly do not need any more patterns or sewing books but my powers of resistance failed me when I saw this book.
The Vogue 2015 spring catalog is now out and Hancock Fabrics is having two Vogue pattern sales this month from now until February 3rd and again February 11 – February 14th. All patterns are on sale for $4.99. I recently stopped by and picked up 7 new patterns.
Three of the patterns have just been released and the other four are from years past but I hadn’t noticed them previously. These are the three new patterns:
I think V1434 would look great in a more casual fabric such as cotton or linen for this summer. I also love the jumpsuit on 9075.
I am taking a break from jeans-sewing and have decided to tackle a simpler project: a little cropped jacket courtesy of Simplicity 1688 — a Cynthia Rowley design. The pattern includes a dress and two variations of a jacket.
I am making jacket view A. I cut a size 10 and made a muslin because I wanted to get the fit right. Below is a picture of the finished muslin.
