McCalls recently came out with their new spring catalog and there’s a lot of really cool patterns. I was so excited when I spotted McCalls 7127. It’s four different tops with beautiful back details. I bought a stretch cotton knit. I don’t seem to have much luck working with knits, however. When I was hemming the back panels, I pulled on the fabric as I went along and stretched the whole thing out of shape. So now it doesn’t fit in the shoulders and I don’t know how to remedy it. What did I do wrong? What is the correct way to hem a stretch knit?
You can see that the neck got stretched out and the shoulders are falling off.
The back panels are sagging.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
