In the sewing community, October is also known as Frocktober, thanks to The Monthly Stitch, who hosts a month-long sew-a-thon of dresses. My entry this month is Butterick 6163. I wanted to make a dress that could transition with me from summer to fall and that I could wear to work. For those of you who have read about my fabric hauls in the past, you probably have noticed that I do not buy many solids. I love colorful prints. But I wanted this dress to be made in a solid color so I headed over to Joann’s. I found this pretty olive microsuede fabric. The fabric and notions totaled $34. To learn more about this budget-friendly dress, read on.
