My first poncho and my first make of 2016! I needed something quick and easy to kick off a whole new year of sewing. McCalls 7255 fit the bill. Although I said I’m going to try my best to sew from my sewing stash this year, I just did not have any sweater knits on hand. Truth is, I’m not a big fan of knits, especially after my last knit project turned out to be a failure. See project fail post. However, I really want to get over my fear of knits and this looked like a simple project. I headed over to Hancock Fabrics and picked up this fleece lined sweater knit. They had a lot of fun colors to choose from. I went with a dusty rose color, but it reads gray. This fabric was very easy to work with.
