I’m trying to participate in the Burda 2015 challenge, to sew one Burda garment from their magazine each month. I subscribe to Burda Style US edition, which is a quarterly publication, so I may have to bend the rules slightly. I recently received Spring 2015, which has loads of gorgeous new patterns.
I’m particularly smitten with the cover look, but that’s only available as pattern downloads that you can purchase at Burda Style. Burda Style recently announced, however, that they are going to start including full pattern inserts for each design featured in the U.S. edition, so that’s cool.
This month I’m attempting this chic wrap blouse, seen here:
The pattern only has three pieces, which was cool since I had to trace them out of this nightmare:
I haven’t traced a pattern in awhile and it’s not fun. Oh well. Hopefully the blouse turns out well and it’ll all have been worth it. I’m making a muslin to make sure I get the fight right and to do a test run. My pieces are cut out and ready to be stitched:
Crossing my fingers that this won’t be a dud. I don’t always have the best of luck with Burda patterns.
What’s on your sewing table?
